Most founders know when something isn't working. The website feels off. The product and the brand have started to pull apart. The team is shipping, but nothing quite holds together.
What's harder to see from the inside is why.
I'm Aidan Doré. For over 25 years I've worked across brand, product, and digital. From global enterprises to early-stage startups. Mastercard, Northern Trust, ESB, Google, Aon. Agency side, product side, Creative Director, Senior Designer, embedded partner. The titles have varied. The work has always involved the same underlying question: what's actually in the way?
At Mastercard, I led the design work that made a global design system worth using. Not by mandating adoption, but by making the system feel like Mastercard. At Northern Trust, the most valuable thing I produced wasn't a screen or a flow. It was a clickable prototype that made a future state visible for the first time. Months of circular conversation resolved in one session.
At Dimply, I watched a talented team spend months working downstream of a problem nobody had named yet. Once we named what Dimply actually was, everything downstream moved.
That's the pattern I keep seeing. And it's the work I do at Doré Design.
I'm not an agency. I don't run a team of juniors executing your brief. I'm a practitioner. One person, working closely with founders, focused on finding what's actually blocking your product and brand from working together. It might lead to a sprint of diagnosis and direction, an ongoing partnership, or a defined build.
But it always starts upstream.
